Rookie Rankings

O.J. Mayo's at the top of the rookie rankings over Beasley and Rose

Top 3:

1 O.J. Mayo {Memphis Grizzlies}
He will become the first rookie (since Allen Iverson in 1997) to score 30+ points in three straight games if he scores 30 or more points against the Knicks on Wednesday. Most people were expecting him to shoot the ball and score alot, but they didn't think he would be this good. He is averaging 21 points {1st among rookies} and 5 rebounds while shooting .439 from the 3 point line. He also leads all the rookies in minutes per! game with 39.5.

2 Derrick Rose {Chicago Bulls}
The Bulls lost Kirk Hinrich to injury, but Rose is good enough to replace him. He had 26 points and 10 assists against Atlanta once they lost Hinrich. He is averaging 18.8 points and leads all rookies with 5.3 assists. That's good, but he needs to step it up a notch if he expects the Bulls to reach the playoffs this year.

3 Michael Beasley {Miami Heat}
Beasley can play offense, but he said that he needs to start being more agressive defensively. He said that he really didn't play much defense when playing at Kansas State, but the Heat are a defensive organization, so he only has the choice to improve. Right now he is averaging .7 steals and .9 blocks. But on offense, it's 16.7 points in 34.6 minutes. Not bad.
